We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Technician. The Kennel Technician will play a crucial role in the care and well-being of our animals. This position involves maintaining a clean and safe environment for our animals, providing basic care such as feeding, watering, playing and exercising and assisting with various tasks related to animal health and hygiene.
We are looking for self-starters who are eagerly willing to learn how to properly walk a dog on leash, read a dog’s body language, communicate with a dog and much more. We will provide you with all the training to ensure you success.
We have multiple shifts. 7 days/week 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm Including holidays.
This is a physically demanding job! Consider this:
Must be physically capable to handle a large dog and maintain your balance.
Must be physically able to traverse terrain that can be uneven, somewhat rocky, rooted, and sloped without losing your balance. If you’re worried about tripping and falling, this is not the right job for you.
Must be physically able to walk 10,000 - 25,000 steps a day across that eventful terrain. If you aren’t able to do this each and every day, this is not the right job for you.
Must be physically able to move or carry heavy things like agility equipment, cases of dog food, buckets of water, or empty crates. If that sounds too challenging for you, this is not the right job for you.
Must be able to work outdoors in the worst of Austin summers and winters, rain or shine. The dogs are happy to be out there, so we must accompany them. If that sounds too uncomfortable for you, then this is not the right job for you.
Finally, must love, love, love dogs and a willingness to learn. This facility was founded by the best in dog behavior and we have many, many years of experience in providing dogs with a safe, calming, and enriching experience.

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be 18years old or older.
Available to work holidays and weekends
Previous experience working with animals preferred.
Previous kennel experience preferred.
Reliable smart phone (iphone or Android) with a data package, messaging, email, a camera and willingness to respond quickly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; both written and oral
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor
Proven reliability and dependability. Must be prepared to begin working the job at the start of the shift( as in you have arrived, sorted yourself for the day, prepped and are actually working at shift start)
Excellent organization skills and follow-through
Ability to remain calm in an emergency and have a high level of patience
Willingness to work and walk outdoors in all types of weather (see above)
Must be able to lift 60 pounds. (see above)
Physical Fitness as this a physically demanding job (see above)
Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain without a high risk of falling (see above)
Must possess the physical ability to work around, leash and handle small to large dogs who may not be trained without being a high risk for falling emotionally or physically. Failures in the scenarios are safety hazards for you and the dogs.
Pay is hourly. Starting pay during your training period is $12/hour. Once you are trained and become efficient, the hourly rate can increase up to $15/hour based on performance.
